A SPECIAL SATURDAY NIGHT COMEDY SHOWCASE WITH:
Blake Freeman is one of Australia’s brightest new comedians, making a name for himself with his own brand of energetic and disarmingly honest comedy. In 2018 he was hand-picked for Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s prestigious Comedy Zone, and in 2019 his debut standup show There’s Something There won the festival’s Best Newcomer Award. Through his youthful energy and charismatic delivery, watch him weave charming stories, making the intensely personal relatable.
Felix is a comedian, musician, and bartender. He's performed in the 2018 Melbourne Fringe Festival and the 2019 Melbourne International Comedy Festival where he shared the stage with his mother in his debut show Son of a Bitch, Generally he keeps mum out of his performances now. When Felix isn't performing he can be found serving up espresso martinis at Howler Bar in Brunswick, his most hated drink is vodka raspberry.
Nina Oyama is a 25-year-old stand-up comedian and writer. She is the co-creator and star of ABC's The Angus Project. Based on the life of her friend Angus Thompson who has cerebral palsy, The Angus Project aims to subvert perceptions of what it means to a have a disability.
As a writer, Nina has worked on Tonightly with Tom Ballard, You're Skitting Me S2 (ABC3) and The Chaser's Election Desk. Her debut play The Glass System won the Blair Milan Scholarship and toured Australia in 2017.
In 2018, Nina finished a stellar run as a Reporter on ABC's Tonightly with Tom Ballard and was featured in The Checkout (ABC). In 2019, Nina returned to television screens as Courtney in the Logie Award winning show Utopia from Working Dog. Nina toured her stand up show 'Nina Oyama Needs A Lift' around Australia, with sold out shows and a 'Best Newcomer' Nomination at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Get ready for an accumulative durational score in collaboration and response to lights and sound. A visual experience which triggers and tests the audiences perception and vision, dancers exist within the movement with the intention of reaching and working within and pushing through a point of exhaustion.
Performers continuously executing and evolving, reinvigorating and reinventing repetitive movement to rave music. This work is inspired by and building upon concepts learnt from a workshop with Arno Schuitemaker and Sarah Rudner choreographic tools.
Inspired by Greek mythology, deep spaces and the impact of privilege, Arc are proud to present Surface Tension. Constructed with elements of experimental sound, interactive movement, art installation and lighting design, this narrative follows a protagonist weaving their way through three phases of personal transformation. A 30 minute performance designed to take your hand in the familiar before leading you out of it.
Ayivah Collective aim to cross the lines of ritual, offering, ceremony and contemporary dance to create something channelled from all the knowledge our bodies have gathered and mapped. On Friday night they present an offering for anything and anyone who wants to be a witness. When you feel fear, feed trust.
Two local Aussie acrobats will impress and astound you with their amazing Teeterboard performance!

Comedy on High is a monthly comedy event in Northcote, organised by Dahn ‘ the Mahn’ Rozario & Alessio Carducci. It’s featured some of Australia’s biggest comedians including Dan Connel, Like McGregor and Dilruk Jayasigha. Expect one hour of back-to-back laughs with an array of comedians each presenting a short stand-up act.
Drakaina have travelled from worlds afar to share their luminous essence with all who cross their flight path. Watch as they dance their mystic spells, sharing the power of fire and water through mesmerising movement and hypnotising magic. They come peacefully to the fields where a tribe of dancers gather, with an offering to bridge the worlds of fantasy and reality, of heaven and earth, of elements at play.
Eclectica - Formally known as Cosmica , Eclectica are an ensemble of talented woman who are passionate about showcase performances that reflect beauty, divinity, emotion, transformation and enlightenment. Bringing in the ancient art of ritual and ceremony to create not just a performance, but a transformational experience.
Eclectica breathe and thrive as one and project oneness through their intricate and amazing formations, acting as one entity in total harmony with one another.
Aurum is a cross-disciplinary performance installation from the imagination of Melbourne based performer and choreographer Emily Sterry, with an original live score performed by Juicy Velour, and costumes by designers Guy Collins and Stuart Atholwood.
Aurum explores an alternate reality from the mind of its creator, a reality in which everything is golden, opulent, delicate and powerful all at once.
Aurum will be installed in a 360 degree open setting at Strawberry Fields 2019, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in the parallel universe it creates.

our inner dialogues

of ourselves and eachother.
Hot Glue Buns have been bringing the disco to Strawberry Fields since 2018, making cool and tight dances to cool and tight lyrics. You want the disco? We bring the disco.
Jurassic Peak is a vibe, a feeling, a place where people can express themselves freely around like-minded people. As well as entertaining, their shows usually include strong messages around government control, the impact of social media on mental health, female and sexual empowerment, all with a touch of fun whacky comedy to boot. Catch them in the Performance Space on Friday and Sunday nights.
Lettuce Create present The Whistling Wanderers. Three humans become machines. Covered in green paint, these rigid beings walk aimlessly around with no end in sight. With heavy influences from pop and locking dance movement and the use of story telling from miming techniques, the trio will roam the forests of Strawberry Fields. Machine-like movements will be matched with sound specialised hidden whistles featuring acrobatic skills.
L Ron Hubble’s performance style incorporates a combination of break-dancing, liquid contact juggling, projected visuals and LED lighting. This creates a visual tapestry that’s unlike anything else and is sure to leave you in a state of transcendental bliss.
Resident DJs from Melbourne’s finest underground music/arts event MELT. Including JAZZ, Feline Fine and Goo DJ, MELT will be facilitating a tasty warm-up at the performance space in collaboration with a handful of contemporary movement artists.
Movement Decor are proud to present two acts: Human Patterning, a landscape of ripple effect, body patterns and geometric shapes. Exploring human anatomy, brain wiring, and the repetitive habits of our ‘intelligent’ species. A concisely put together visual experience played over a blanket statement on human behaviour. Performance Art, more literal than ever, they’re wearing art and it’s a performance. Bodies and canvases fused into a roving act where the gallery comes alive.
Mr Marmalade presents Schrodinger’s Wizard. As if straight from an old, sepia photograph, Mr Marmalade’s enchanting presence will cast you into a surreal world of vaudeville charm and mystical enchantment. This talented magician is simply like no other, effortlessly capturing your imagination and awakening your inner child.
Nikky Muscat presents Horny Hot Tub, a collective of contemporary dance artists in collaboration to create an experience based around the awkward, unspoken moments of a group of random people entering the hot tub at the beginnings of a wild night...
Odds & Ends Circus presents This Year’s Performance Hosts on Friday and Sunday nights. They’ve circumnavigated the globe in nothing more than an esky full of Vegemite. Now they’re ready for Strawberry Fields. This fast-paced, quick-witted dynamic duo are ready to host your socks off.
Poems 4 Trade is a portable, on-the-spot poetry service organised and performed by the Freestyle Poet, Patrick Holmes. Originating from a chance encounter with a typewriter, Poems 4 Trade was birthed from resourcefulness, creativity and spontaneity. An interactive multi-player human experience with only three rules: ‘Make an offer. Pick a topic. Get a poem.’ Not only a fun experience and meaningful exchange, Poems 4 Trade will leave you with a souvenir and a memorable encounter. Whether it be glitter, a feather, something found, or a treasure, be sure to have something poem-worthy tucked in your back pocket.

The Rock Lobsters are all about bringing the fun back into contemporary dance. They used to go on holidays to this little town over the summer, spending everyday at the beach playing with sparklers at night. On long balmy afternoons the verandah was their stage and they’d put on a show. An ode to the B52s.
Sõma Pulsus, an all-female dance collective from NZ & Australia present Meeting 2 . A collective of dancing, female bodies reconnect after a space of one year. Together we arrive. In this moment we are one again. We share an experience. Pristine and polished, we are untouched by the fire or the storms of life. This is our place where stillness and peace reside.
Success in the Bush are a group of Melbourne-based dancers who incorporate humour and physical theatre into their works. Tupperwear It is a contemporary dance piece exploring the many uses of tupperware containers aside from providing airtight storage for delicious leftovers.
The Amazing Mr Fish presents a circus, comedy, mime extravaganza. Not since the vaudevillians of yesteryear have so many skills been seen in one amazing show, and not even they could do it with a fish down their trousers.
The FUGS present The Mystery of Bunyip Boy - an Australian Bush Operetta. Laugh along to an all-inclusive, comedic and adventurous guide exploring the ins and outs of the Australian bush. Combining outlandish movement, satirical storytelling and a comical, formulaic guide on the do’s and do not’s of being lost in the bush, the show follows four adventurers exploring what it takes to become one with the land. Through an array of ludicrous stories and sarcastic advice, this ‘how to guide’ makes for an enjoyable performance creating a real sense of community, exploring what it takes to unleash one’s full potential through an unwavering connection to the land.
Warriors are a group of contemporary and classically trained dancers, who have come together to present their work Tierra - a roving piece exploring each part of the land, incorporating the water, sand and trees surrounding us. Paying respects to the nature and land we have been gifted. Keep an eye out for the roving Warriors on Sunday evening as they remind you to appreciate our natural environment and take your rubbish home with you.
Miss Burlesque Australia 2016/17, Willow J and the fire-cracking performing Lilla Darmae have come together as Willa & Lilla to present The Bauhaus Burlesque – an act with a measurable difference! Drawing inspiration from the avant-garde Triadic Ballet of the 1920’s, this dynamic duo has teamed up as Willa & Lilla to create a strange work of geometric proportions looking at the perception of body in space. Debuting at the Australian Burlesque Festival 2017, then rocketing on to be invited artists in the Movers, Shakers and Innovators Showcase at the Burlesque Hall of Fame 2018 in Las Vegas, they have based their act on the theatre works of the Bauhaus School of Architecture and combined it with the modern day stripper to give to you a strange and surreal take on the shape and form burlesque!
